Defect age can be determined as the time interval between the date of defect detected and date of defect closure.

Defect Age = Date of defect closure – Date of defect detected

Assume, a tester found a bug and reported it on 1st Feb 2019 and it was successfully fixed on 5th Feb 2019. So the defect age is 5 days.
