‘ANR’ in Android is ‘Application Not Responding.’
It means when the user is associating with the activity, and the activity is in the on Resume() method, a dialog seems to display “application not responding.”
It appears because we start a heavy and long-running task like downloading data in the main UI thread. The answer to the problem is to begin your heavy tasks in the background using the Async Task class.
