A modifier is utilized to change the significance of the base type with the goal that it all the more accurately fits the necessities of different conditions.
The data type modifiers are listed here:-

shortThe modifier is a prefix to the fundamental data type which is utilized to show the modification for storage space allocation to a variable.
Example– In 32-bit processor storage space for the int data type is 4.When we use it with modifier the storage space change as follows.
Long int -> Storage space is 8 bit
