Hello,
Generally, the loading spinner is used to display the progress of tasks whose total time of completion not known.
Here are the methods of loading spinner in android:

isIndeterminate()
postInvalidate()
setIndeterminate(boolean indeterminate)
invalidateDrawable(Drawable dr)
incrementSecondaryProgressBy(int diff)
getProgressDrawable()
