The concept of CSS sprites is used to reduce the loading time for a web page because it has a large number of images that take a longer time to load and each image separately sends out an HTTP request.
It joins the multiple small images into one image. It reduces the number of HTTP requests and hence the loading time.
Benefits of CSS Sprites
CSS sprites reduce overall page load time while giving enterprises more control over the performance of their website.
Users experience faster page load times since images appear as soon as the sprite sheet is downloaded.
